Jon Alain Guzik
Jon Alain Guzik is a Los Angeles-based consultant and serial entrepreneur.
He is the founder and CEO of Kuradi*, Hubris Factory and the soon to be launched powersports and automotive vertical, RideApart/DriveApart.
Kuradi* is a social value consultancy that engages major brands in philanthropy through technology and lifestyle initiatives. Kuradi aims to raise capital and social awareness for the charity of the users choice from everything purchased both on and offline.
Kuradi’s core mission is to create the intersections between commerce, lifestyle and ubiquitous philanthropy.
Aside from Kuradi*, Guzik is the founder of Hubris Factory Inc., a creative consultancy that helps brands to navigate the media and ecommerce space by developing strategies that reflect the core, heritage and lifestyle of brands. Hubris Factory creates both online and experiential events to engage both the consumer and lifestyle media.
Recently, Hubris Factory engaged in a heritage-inspired clothing collaboration and lifestyle media outreach with American Honda Motors to create and launch a new Honda officially licensed clothing and accessories product called “The Honda Heritage Clothing Collection”.
The launch of the collection garnered over 15,000,000 uniques in non-automotive publications though a series of pop-up shops and events in Los Angeles, CA. The full collection goes on sale in Winter 2012.
Aside from Hubris Factory, Guzik is the founder and CEO of RideApart/DriveApart, a soon to be launched consumer information portal leading to online sales for the powersports industry. RideApart aims to create not just in-market leads, but also to help the consumer control the entire lifecycle of their powersport’s product with an array of industry first tools and technologies, which translates into compelling OEM revenue streams from activating leads on dealer service, certified OEM parts and accessories and ancillary products. For Automotive OEMs, RideApart’s complementary automotive site, DriveApart creates compelling crossover from our powersports site and helps to facilitate sales to our captive in-market audience.
Guzik has also worked as an editorial and brand management consultant for Complex Media, Harris Publications, BBC, LA Weekly, Variety and the Los Angeles Times.
Guzik is currently West Coast editor at Antenna Magazine, contributing editor at Food Republic and automotive editor at ModernMan, as well as a contributor at Popular Science, to name a few publications.
Previously, Guzik was the Editor-in-Chief and Director of Editorial Development for DriverSide.com, a San Francisco-based venture funded consumer automotive start-up. DriverSide’s content and rich media is seen in over 12,000,000 direct emails and online page views per month, as well as scores of newspapers and media sites though aggregation. Guzik lead the team from inception to over 40 employees.Prior to joining DriverSide, Guzik was Editor-at-Large at Yahoo! Autos, where he developed and wrote the portal’s original automotive content and rich media. His content was featured weekly on Yahoo!’s front page to a global audience of billions.
Guzik has been featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, View from the Bay as well as being quoted on AOL Autos, Yahoo! Autos, BBC News and the Los Angeles Times.
Guzik has a B.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State University and an M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts in Critical Studies with a supplemental certification in Integrated Media.
